AFLV Central Fundraising Events

T-Shirt Auction

Saturday, February 10 | 9:30 p.m.

 

Do you have extra shirts from Greek Week, intake/recruitment, a social event, or a philanthropic event? Bring your extra (never before worn) T-shirts to AFLV Central and donate them to the 2018 T-shirt auction! The following types of shirts are especially popular:

  • Chapter shirts: brother/sisterhood, recruitment, or special events
  • Council or community shirts
  • Step show/Stroll shirts
  • Greek Week shirts
  • Intake/Recruitment shirts (chapter or community specific)

We will be collecting t-shirts during registration. Please drop them off in Griffin Hall.

AFLV needs your support to achieve the mission and vision of the Association! Money raised from the Silent Auction is critical in supporting the cutting edge leadership opportunities of the Association that challenge and encourage fraternity/sorority members to live ethical values and implement best practices. Some of these programs include: scholarships for AFLV LeaderShape, The Gathering, The Journey, and any of our conferences. 

 

Bring your money to bid on items such as: jewelry, fraternity/sorority paraphernalia, autographed items, sports memorabilia, books, electronics, spa/health items, purses, artwork, collectibles and much more!

 

In the past, national speakers have also generously donated speaking engagements for councils and institutions to bid on. These donations are an especially great deal as the winner often ends up paying less than the advertised cost!

 

For every bid you make, you will have the chance at winning a gift card! For example, if you bid on ten items one time, your name will be entered ten times. This will not include institutional bids on speakers. We will announce winners for one gift card on Thursday and one gift card on Friday. Bid counts start over each day, so keep an eye on your items and keep bidding!

#ValuesinAction Campaign

This initiative recognizes those who exemplify their fraternal values on a daily basis. Conference attendees can purchase a sticker in celebration of an individual who puts his/her #valuesinaction.

 

For only $2 (or three for $5), you can purchase a sticker. If your honorees are attending the conference, they can display their insignia on their nametags and be publicly recognized as people who put their fraternal #valuesinaction!

 

AFLV Central Events 

Order of Omega Case Study Competition

Informational Meeting | Friday, February 9 | 10:15 - 11:15 a.m.

Competition | Saturday, February 10 | 1:45 - 5:15 p.m.

 

The purpose of the Order of Omega Case Study Competition is to provide an educational learning experience for undergraduate members of fraternities or sororities and fraternity/sorority professionals. Here are the details:
  • Forty teams of two (a fraternity/sorority life professional or graduate student and one undergraduate council officer) will work on one case study to be presented to a team of three judges.
  • There will be a “Team A” consisting of eight teams, "Team B” consisting of eight teams, "Team C" consisting of eight teams, "Team D" consisting of eight teams and "Team E" consisting of eight teams."
  • All teams interested in participating in the case study MUST be present at the Order of Omega Case Study Competition Informational Meeting on Friday, February 9 from 10:15-11:15 a.m.
  • Each team will have 15 minutes to present its case study solution and five minutes to answer any questions from the judges.
  • There will be three places awarded within each Team to be presented at the Recognition Banquet. The first place will receive $250; the second place team will receive $150; the third place will receive $100.

NBGLC Stroll Competition

Friday, February 9 | 9:00 p.m.

 


This exciting event brings together teams comprised of multiple councils to compete in a night full of the latest music and dance moves, plenty of laughter, and the occasional surprise. The competition promotes Greek unity while upholding NPHC’s high standards and expectations. Each year the Stroll Competition proves to be a must-see event!

 

If your team would like to participate, make sure to review the Stroll Competition Application Packet prior to registering. Also, new this year, we want you to incorporate the theme Flashback Friday into your stroll!

PITCH By CAMPUSPEAK

Have you ever seen Shark Tank? Would you like to pitch your idea to solve a campus issue by planning a large educational initiative? What kind of impact could you make on your campus in a particular area? What could you do with $15,000 of educational resources to address an issue on your campus?

 

CAMPUSPEAK would like to work with you! Do you have an innovative solution to make change happen, but don’t have the resources to execute all the educational components necessary for a comprehensive approach? PITCH BY CAMPUSPEAK is an opportunity for greater thinkers and doers to gather, formulate new ideas, and pitch their proposal to make a significant impact on their campus.

 

Pitches should be engaging, solution-focused and have a long-term impact on campus. Pitches will be heard at #AFLVCentral, and the winning projects will be implemented in Fall 2018. Winners of PITCH BY CAMPUSPEAK would receive up to $15,000 in CAMPUSPEAK programs and services!

In addition to the #AFLVCentral T-Shirt Auction, St. Jude is helping us bring some great late night options for you to participate in!

 

  • Party Hop - Join the DJ and your friends in Griffin Hall for a can't miss dance party.
  • Silent Disco - Happening in White River F!
  • Game Show - Happening in White River A/B!
  • St. Jude Patients Valentine's Day Card Creation Station - Put your creative skills to work while creating unique Valentine's cards for patients of St. Jude Children's Hospital. This event will take place in the Griffin Hall Foyer.
