Professionals' Institute: Best Practices, Worst Practices and Emerging Trends in Organizational Conduct Processes

One of the last truly unexplored (or at least unsettled) frontiers in student affairs is exactly how campuses should structure their organizational investigation and adjudication procedures. These processes vary wildly from campus to campus, with some campuses treating organizations no differently than individual students, and some campuses with fully developed organizational processes running parallel to the traditional student conduct process. But what works best? What should campuses be doing? And, perhaps most importantly, what role should the campus fraternity/sorority advisor play in that process? This program will investigate all of these questions and more.

Order of Omega Case Study Competition

Competition | Saturday, April 8 | 2:00 - 5:20 p.m.

The purpose of the Order of Omega Case Study Competition is to provide an educational learning experience for undergraduate members of fraternities or sororities and fraternity/sorority professionals. Here are the details:


  • Sixteen teams of two (a fraternity/sorority life professional or graduate student and one undergraduate council officer) will work on one case study to be presented to a team of three judges. There will be a “Team A” consisting of eight teams and a “Team B” consisting of eight teams.
  • All teams interested in participating in the case study MUST be present at the Order of Omega Case Study Competition introduction meeting that will take place on Saturday, April 10, from 8:00-9:00 a.m. in a location to be announced.
  • Each team will have 15 minutes to present its case study solution and five minutes to answer any questions from the judges.
  • There will be three places awarded within “Team A” and three places awarded within “Team B” presented at the Recognition Banquet. The first place will receive $250; the second place team will receive $150; the third place will receive $100.
