Council Applications

In order to provide member councils the best assessment data and to compare "apples to apples" for recognition purposes, AFLV divides member councils into the divisions based on type of council and number of member chapters. Councils that submit the Awards & Assessment Applications each year will receive recognition within their designated division and an assessment report that shows how their achievement compares to others in their division.

Councils should determine the division in which they belong. Councils may apply in as few or as many categories as they wish. In order to be eligible for the Overall Division Council Award, the council must apply in all eight categories.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You will need the latest version of Adobe Reader in order to open the applications. Visit the Adobe Website to get the latest version of Acrobat Reader for your computer. After opening the PDF Portfolio, you will need to save it under a different name to your preferred location BEFORE editing the document.

Deadline & Submission Instructions

Do you want to be awarded for your council's excellence? There are two ways to apply! AFLV is excited to offer online applications for the 2018 awards and assessment program. However, if you are used to the old pen and paper style, you may still apply in this manner. BUT! In 2019, we are going strictly digital. You can say goodbye to bulky binders!

Click here for detailed instructions provided to assist councils in completing their applications.

Online applications must be submitted by December 1, and all paper applications must by postmarked by December 1.

Assessment & Award Committee Awards

The Kaleidoscope Award and Pinnacle Award are selected by the Assessment & Awards Committee while judging the overall council applications; there is no separate application and therefore in order to be eligible, a council must apply for at least one category award.

Kaleidoscope Award for Innovation

  • In order to encourage AFLV member councils to continue to search for innovative and visionary ways to address the challenges they face, the Kaleidoscope Award has been created.
  • This recognition may be bestowed upon one member council (from among all size divisions) that has demonstrated initiative and innovation in addressing a new or on-going issue facing its Greek community.
  • Only one Kaleidoscope may be given per region each year.
  • In the Central Region, the Kaleidoscope Award is named for Linda Wardhammar. Linda served as the first Assistant Executive Director, Awards for AFLV and gave great service to Mid-American Panhllenic Council Association (a predecessor to AFLV) for several years before that.

Pinnacle Award for Strategic Growth sponsored by LaunchPoint

  • LaunchPoint and AFLV are committed to enhancing strategic growth strategies undertaken by our member councils that have a larger impact on the campus community.
  • The Pinnacle Award was awarded for the first time in 2016. This recognition is exclusive to one member council (from among all size divisions) that has executed extraordinary efforts to grow their interfraternal community. Only one Pinnacle Award may be given per region each year.
  • Special thanks to LaunchPoint for their sponsorship of this award.
